Healing Through Art: Hope, Trust, and Transformation

Event Date: 17/06/2025 09:00
Event Location: Fondazione Int. Don Luigi Di Liegro Via Ostiense, 106 00154, Rome

From June 17 to 19, 2025, the Fondazione Internazionale Don Luigi Di Liegro will host in Rome the first Multiplier Event of the European project TRUST – Trauma of Refugees in Europe: An Approach Through Art Therapy as a Solidarity Program for Victims of the War in Ukraine, funded by the Erasmus+ program.

Titled “Healing Through Art: Hope, Trust, and Transformation”, the event will offer three days of dialogue and hands-on work through music therapy and drama therapy, two tools that support the processing of trauma related to war and migration. The initiative will involve over 30 participants from six European countries – Belgium, Italy, Portugal, Greece, Luxembourg, and Ukraine – including psychologists, therapists, social workers, and members of the partner organizations.

The program will begin with a coordination meeting on June 16, followed by two full days of immersive workshops:

  • On June 17, participants will take part in the drama therapy workshop Gift of Hope, led by art therapist Jessica Tosi and theatre expert Roberto Baldassari. Gift of Hope, condotto dall’arteterapeuta Jessica Tosi e dall’esperto di teatro Roberto Baldassari.
  • On June 18, the focus will instead be on exploring the potential of sound as a therapeutic tool with the workshop The Art of Listening, led by Prof. Gianluca Taddei, psychologist and music therapist.
  • On June 19, the workshop Giving, Hoping, Dreaming will be led by psychologist Lavinia Fagnani, followed by a final collective closing session.

To conclude, on the evening of June 19, the event “Hope on Stage” will take place — a performance open to all, upon registration, at Teatro de’ Servi, showcasing the work developed during the workshops.

This event marks a significant step in the TRUST project, which aims to offer concrete and replicable tools for psychological and social support to refugees through a creative and relationship-centered approach.
